LegalMatch Celebrates Five Years of Superior Attorney/Client Matching Service

San Francisco CA (January 7, 2005)—Beginning in January 2005, LegalMatch will celebrate its fifth year as the leading U.S. provider of online attorney/client matching services.
 
A pioneer of online legal services, LegalMatch launched its service in 2000 as a Web-based exchange to help individuals and small businesses make educated decisions when choosing a lawyer. Since the company’s national service was made available to consumers, many other legal information and/or attorney acquisition models have entered the marketplace; yet LegalMatch continues to dominate the marketplace for this category.

Recent milestones in company history:
  • New Web Portal: The re-launch of its Web site, www.legalmatch.com. The new portal is an array of streamlined, simplified and secure access tools for consumers and attorneys. The company designed the site to be more user-friendly, confidential and free for consumers. Beginning in mid-January, the site will also be accompanied by a broad-based online consumer legal resource center, the LegalCenter, which will provide important information in helping people to make better decisions on attorney representation.
  • Launch of RAM 3: The new software platform segments the market by more than 3,000 U.S. counties and provides dynamic case analysis of the demand for legal representation. The software detects membership openings arising from elevated consumer case volume while simultaneously providing detailed business intelligence and market analyses more precisely than was previously possible.
  • LegalMatch Posts Record Number of Cases: Consumer activity at the company’s Internet destination - legalmatch.com - spiked last year by more than 60 percent. Adding credence to the significant increase, consumer cases submissions jumped as well by more than 18 percent.
  • Directed "Key Word" Search Capability: This component is now being offered nationally to firms seeking to identify specific types of cases, resulting in a major positive impact in class action and mass tort issues.
Randy Wells predicts that LegalMatch is on target for market penetration of 3.6 percent of the current target market of 500,000 solo and small firm practitioners within the next few years. Also an innovation in the online legal industry: LegalMatch will soon unveil its first ancillary financial products and services division. This division of the company will focus on providing a legal practice financing system for attorneys who wish to start or expand their practice. The new financing department will work with as many lending sources to provide this confidential system to clients.
